Brett & Matt

It is ironic that two years after my first holiday market, I am viewing pictures from the amazing wedding of two special souls who I met at that very event.

Brett and Matt were right across from me at the market in Hendricks county with their creative and stylish refurbished furniture and accent pieces from The Grey Key. I knew right away that we would get along as their style was so in line with my taste and creativity.

It was at my first market selling things I loved like my husband’s pottery, my good friend’s knitted goods, and fresh flowers. I sold a few things making it worth my while, but the best part was making friends with them and Jessica, who was next to them as well. We all struck up conversation, shared creative stories and desires to live out a more creative life, and we all stayed connected.

In this world of social media, that can be so “un-social” our connection was genuine and real. And two years later, when Brett and Matt decided to make their union official, they asked ME to be their floral designer! These two guys are so creative and artistic, they could have done all of this on their own. But they asked ME to help them. I was beyond thrilled and honored. To create and design with them was like a dream come true.

For months, we collaborated, shared design ideas, and I thought I had a good handle on the outcome they desired for their wedding. But when I saw it all come together, I was in awe.

As I walked in with florals, before any of it was set, one of them was brought to tears. I told them, “I haven’t even done anything yet! Wait until it is all set to start that craziness!” But I think they were happy with what they were seeing from the beginning.

It all came together so beautifully. A vision realized. A design implemented with style and grace by a team that pulled it together effortlessly. I’ve told them we need to work together again! They have done some designing for the show “Good Bones” so their abilities are real, noteworthy, and exceptional! I hope we get to work together again….and soon! Not only was it fun, it was art in motion. It was an event that showcased their love, their talent, and their flair for creating an event that any guest would not want to miss.

When can we do it again, guys?????

Congratulations to the Mehringers! Brett and Matt! #cheers
